Which hat to wear today is an ongoing challenge for Melinda Clarke, who is relishing in the technology age and all the opportunities it presents.
Three days a week Melinda works for one of Australia’s theatre treasures – Back to Back Theatre. Up until recently she was their Finance Manager but is now excited to take on the position of Private Giving Manager. In this role she will build on relationships with the company’s supporters and increase Back to Back’s profile. “It is such an amazing organization to be involved with and I love the incredible theatre they produce and the creative people I am fortunate enough to work with.”
Back to Back Theatre was established 28 years ago and their headquarters are based in Geelong. They create new forms of contemporary theatre imagined from the minds and experiences of a unique ensemble of actors with a disability, giving voice to the social and political issues that speak to all people. Since 2002 the company has performed to an audience of more than 65,000 in over 70 cities around the world. Their work is highly acclaimed around the globe and amongst their many awards is the 2012 Helpman Award for Best Australian Play – Ganesh versus The Third Reich. This year they are embarking on a 5 city European tour in May and then venture for the first time to perform in South America in September.
